With the support of local councils and chambers of trade and commerce, free parking will be available around the district on a number of days.
On Saturday 3 December, Purbeck District Council, Wareham Town Council and Dorset County Council will be supporting Small Business Saturday by offering free parking in their Wareham car parks and at West Street car park, Corfe Castle.
Why not ‘shop local’ by supporting this celebration of small businesses on the 3rd. Participating car parks in Wareham are at Bonnets Lane; Connegar Lane; Howards Lane; Streche Road; the Rempstone Centre; the Quay; and St Johns Hill.
Closer to Christmas, Purbeck District Council and Wareham Town Council will be waiving charges in their car parks on Wednesday 21, Thursday 22 and Friday 23 December.
Free parking will also be available in Corfe Castle West Street car park on Saturdays 10, 17 and 24 December.
Swanage Town Council will be providing free parking in its Broad Road and Main Beach car parks on all Saturdays in December and Saturday 7 January.
Councillor Cherry Brooks, Economy and Infrastructure Spokesperson for Purbeck District Council, said: “We are delighted to be working with the chambers of trade and commerce and local councils to support our local traders.
“The district is home to a fabulous range of shops and small businesses, so take advantage of the free parking and come and see what we have to offer! Why not take the opportunity to spend a little extra time exploring our local towns.”
